Confused Uncertainty (poem)

Read Time:1 Minute, 10 Second
As lightning struck the tower
His hands were cupped to his mouth.
“I have to tell you about the future!”
“I have to tell you about the future!”

To know one’s future can be dire

When will I die? Marry? Pro-create?
What shall become of me?
Let’s focus on the present rather than the future.
Today.
Today I am here.
Just for today.
Where do I go from here?
So many choices.
Sing my way to stardom?
Hope an agent wants my book?
Make money writing a blog?
Which way; right or left?
For sure; all paths lead to the same place.
The destination is certain; the journey is not.
Are we in this together or am I dragging them with me?
Do they want this for real or is this just my thing?
With me or behind me; who knows?
I know we’re all heading the same way.
Time; it moves so fast.
Faster than the speed of light.
Time is hard to measure.
Tick tick tick tick
We’re in the same direction; all experience is good.
I am this world and I am my experiences.
I am these colours, these words, these people.
I am the vibrations of the earth.
I am, I am, I am.
